Saralyn, Taylor, Morganne and Shae-Lynne are eager to share about a special bear and elephant.
There is a statue of Winnie, a black bear who went over to England, at Assiniboine Zoo in Winnipeg. Winnie inspired the character we all know as Winnie the Pooh! Once in England Winnie was sent to the London Zoo.
Bandoola, the elephant was very helpful to the soldiers of Britan. During the war elephants were able to pull up trees and tug army trucks out of mud. In 1944, enemies were coming to take the elephant herd and Bandoola led the elephants to safety.
