Tales of Animals in War
Uncategorized No Comments »This morning the Grade 4B class began to read Tales of Animals in War, published by Veterans Affairs Canada. They were excited to report about some of the animals that were helpful to the soldiers.
Talyor discovered that glow worms were helpful to the soldiers as they relied on them for lighting when they read secret messages and maps.
Saralyn reported that rats were helpful as they could detect poison gas in tunnels.
Jordan explained that rats were also used to locate mines.
Morganne brought it to our attention that not all animals were helpful. For example, cooing mockingbirds prevented soldiers from sleeping.
